Today on the blog, I’m sharing my Mother’s Day gift ideas. All items on the list were handpicked with the intention to help mom relax and enjoy this time at home during this crazy time.
With the current quarantine situation still ongoing, I wanted to share items that could easily be shipped and had a focus on self-care and pampering.
A little extra thought and intention behind your Mother’s Day gift this year will help mom feel ALL THE LOVE…from an acceptable six feet of social distance. 🙂

Mother’s Day gift Ideas
I know Mother’s Day is still a couple of weeks away. But, I wanted to get these gift ideas out to you asap so you can start to plan. Some of these options may require a little extra lead time with the current situation and COVID-19.
These are all items I know my mom would LOVE to receive! If you can’t find anything that works for you on this list hopefully, it at least got you thinking.
Regardless of what you do, the most important thing this year will be connection. Letting mom know she is loved. Reaching out and/or gifting with the intention to make Mother’s Day extra special when we can’t be together.
Gift Idea #1 – Flowers
What mom doesn’t love flowers? They bring such life and prettiness into any room they are placed in.
How about sending mom a gorgeous bouquet to bring a little happiness and joy into her home this Mother’s Day!
Enter Terrain. I love this dreamy store!
If you are not familiar with them, they are a garden + home store. Their focus is on merging the outdoors with the home for a unique experience. This store always makes me yearn for a little English countryside house. One with a big old wildflower garden and greenhouse to putz around in.
If you love Anthropologie and their vibe, you will LOVE Terrain! They are a branch of the Anthropologie family so you know they’ve got to be good!
On their site, they have everything you need for your garden and outdoor spaces. From pots and plants to outdoor furniture and decor.
Their gorgeous floral arrangements though are what I’ve been eyeing up recently as a gift idea for Mother’s Day. What makes them so good and different from your average floral delivery companies are their arrangements of unique and on-trend flowers.
A great example is their Mother’s Day Rose Bouquet. It’s not filled with the standard, typical roses we tend to think of but with heirloom roses. Think English cabbage and garden roses. These flowers come from Grace Rose Farm in California and are exclusive to Terrain. They are hard to get in local flower shops and are usually reserved for floral designers.
This is what makes them so unique and different. Just what mom needs to feel extra special and loved during this crazy time.
A few other favorites include the King Protea Bouquet, the Fresh Spring Blooms Bouquet, and the stunning Ranunculus Bouquet.
If your mom is a lover of plants, they also have a wide variety to choose from. I love the Trailing Jade and the Maidenhair Fern in their copper pots. The Spanish Lavender in it’s jute pot is also a great option.
They also created a gift guide here with lots of great ideas for mom including wellness items and accessories.
Gift Idea #2 – Bath Bombs
We’re all at home trying to find ways to relax. Bath bombs are the perfect gift idea to give mom a little extra pampering.
I am a HUGE fan of Lush bath bombs and I listed my faves in this recent post. They have a Mother’s Day section on their site but I went straight to the New Products section to see the recent adds.
I’m gravitating towards anything that promotes tranquility and sleep right now since our routines have been shaken up. This Sleepy bath bomb with lavender sounds like heaven right now. Peach Crumble is another good one combining the yummy scent of davana-grapefruit with cocoa butter for silky, smooth skin. And for an extra special, 2-in-1 treat, scoop up Mermaid Tail. The tail is a skin silkening oil that can be broken off and used separately from the base. The fresh scent of lemon and grapefruit will lift her mood and bring happy thoughts of spring and sunshine!
Lush, like many businesses, has had to adjust and downsize their company with COVID-19. You can read their most recent updates here. They are offering free ground shipping on orders over $40 until April 30. They also stated on their website that orders will process and ship within 10-15 days. If you are planning on placing an order I wouldn’t wait.

Gift Idea #3 – organic skin care
Want to support a great small company and spoil mom? How about sending her a gift from Primally Pure? Their passion is creating clean, non-toxic products with real ingredients you can pronounce that truly work.
I’ve been slowly swapping out my skincare products for cleaner versions. My sweet mama ordered me a few of their products to try for my birthday back in January.
I loved them so much I ordered a few more to try when my skin was irritated and inflamed after surgery. My skin has been drinking up their soothing serum and the baby balm has helped my irritated, dry skin heal.

I also scooped up one of their Gua Sha stones and have followed along with their how-to videos on YouTube. I talked about the benefits of this practice in a recent post here. Also in this post, I share how and why I’ve incorporated this new habit into my everyday routine during quarantine.
Need help deciding on what to get? Check out the team bundle recommendations based on skin concern and save a little when you purchase the bundle.
They recently released an organic hand sanitizer and are donating 100% of the proceeds on orders during the month of April. And, orders placed for $100 or more always ship free. Despite the current environment, shipping has been fast. I have no doubt your gift will arrive on time to celebrate mom!
Gift Idea #4 – Comfy Clothes
One of my favorite brands is Athleta. I have a few of their pieces in my wardrobe. Each one has become a go-to item of mine and part of my weekly rotation. They are so soft, comfortable, and easy to work out or run errands in.
I’ve spoiled mom before with a couple of pieces from here and know she loves them just as much!
It’s hard to narrow down the list to just a few favorites but some of the pieces I’ve been eyeing up for mom are:
- This Mindset Sweatshirt
- The Salutation Joggers
- Cabo Linen shorts
- Venice Jogger pants
- The Breezy Tank
If you are planning on ordering make sure to plan ahead. There may be slight delays in delivery times with the pandemic. They are also offering free shipping on all orders of $25 or more.
Gift Idea #5 – Candles and Room sprays
One of the small joys I’ve discovered being at home is the ability to light a favorite candle. My favorites scents immediately bring a sense of calm to our home and are helping to keep me sane.
Scents can trigger different types of memories because of the parts of the brain your sense of smell is connected to. If you’ve attached a certain memory to the smell, lighting that candle can trigger the memory you’ve attached.
Lavender and eucalyptus are generally scents associated with the spa and evoke feelings of relaxation and calm. These would be perfect options to send to mom right now. Helping her to relax at home during this crazy season.
Did you grow up baking cookies with mom? Why not send her a candle that smells like vanilla or freshly baked cookies! The times you spent together in the kitchen baking ALL the delicious things will bring a smile to her face.
With the warmer weather slowly making it’s way to Ohio, I love to bring out my lighter, citrus smelling candles. Having these scents in my home helps bring on spring and summer a lot quicker since I have associated them with the seasons.
Some of my favorites are:
- The Capri Blue candles at Anthropologie are probably my number one, absolute favorite. The scent is a mix of tropical fruits, lemon, and limes. Very light and perfect for spring and summer. They come in a variety of jars and you can select the one that fits your style the best.
- This coconut mixed with mango one will surely transport mom to a beautiful beach with the warm sun shining down.
- This lavender candle in a terracotta planter will double as a pot for a cute little plant once the candle is long gone.
Gift Idea # 6 – Books
If your mom is an avid reader, and has a little more time on her hands or looking for ways to unwind, how about sending her a book?
Reading has been one of my hobbies I’ve leaned into more during this season. I used to read a few pages at night before dropping off to sleep. Now, I find myself grabbing books and reading a few chapters throughout the day. It’s been a nice change to my routine and definitely better than having the TV on all day.
Everyone has their favorite genres but if you need some suggestions, some of my favorites are below.
- Anything by Kate Morton. The Forgotten Garden, The Secret Keeper, and The House at Riverton were all excellent.
- Elizabeth Gilbert is a favorite of many. City of Girls and The Signature of All Things are two of my favorites.
- My mom and I are always sharing books by Elin Hilderbrand. They are the perfect beach read and so many are intertwined with each other which I love.
Gift Idea # 7 – Sweet Treats and Comfort Food
I don’t know about you but since we’ve been staying home as much as possible, I’ve leaned heavily into another passion of mine which is cooking and baking. In a lot of ways, it’s how I relax and decompress. It’s also one of the ways I show my family and friends love and connect with them. Letting them know I care and that I’m thinking of them.

My mom is out of state and if yours is too, it’s not so easy to drop by with a sweet treat or home-cooked meal. So, why not send a care package!
Goldbelly is another great gift idea for Mother’s Day. They have all sorts of iconic favs from big cities all across the US. And since food is great at bringing people together why not send something that will trigger happy memories of times spent together!
My sister and I took my mom to Charleston, SC for her 60th a few years ago. We got to experience the city a little differently than when we were there for Mike and I’s wedding,
One of the foods we treated ourselves to while we were there were Callie’s Biscuits. They are SO SO GOOD and one of the items you can order and ship through Goldbelly. I know my mom would LOVE to receive these for Mother’s Day. She would instantly be transported back to our girl’s trip and the fun times we had.
Another great southern option is the Red Velvet cake from Caroline’s Cakes. I mean, who doesn’t LOVE red velvet cake.
They have multiple ways to shop on their site. You can search by restaurant, region, and even drill down by city.
Also, you can gift a subscription. They offer multiple themes and options to choose from. You can send three, six or twelve-month increments and choose themes like ice cream or sandwich subscriptions. And if you’re in one of the big cities they have listed and want to support your local restaurants, they have a subscription for that as well!
Gift Idea # 8 – Etsy
If you’re looking for ways to support small businesses during this time, may I suggest checking out Etsy?
I love Etsy and the variety of options out there. There are SO MANY talented and creative business owners on there. And, you can find some pretty unique and thoughtful gift ideas for Mother’s Day.
Have a mom who loves to garden? How about these personalized garden tools? I love the idea of a personalized tee featuring all the kid’s names. Looks super cozy too! This one ships from the UK but I love the idea of a hidden message waiting for mom after she drinks her morning cup of coffee or tea!
Supporting a small biz and treating mom to a unique gift is defiantly a win win right now.
