It’s that time of year! Summer is coming to an end. Kids are heading back to school and the adults are buckling down after a crazy summer. While it seems some are able to return to school and work in person, many are heading into fall still working and studying remotely. If you’re like us, you made do with what you had around the house. Using the dining room table or sofa as a desk to create a makeshift home office.
As it became more apparent that my husband would be home for the unforeseeable future, we decided to get serious about creating a home office. Working originally from our dining room table, Mike moved to our guest bedroom after I was laid off where it was quieter. We moved some things around and carved out a little space for him. Moving a small desk we had into the room for him. It’s been fine in a pinch but he needs something bigger for the long haul.
As we hunt for a desk that will work for our home office, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite finds in case you are in need of one too!
desks for a Home office
Budget friendly Desk Finds: $
Looking for a desk but have a tight budget? The following would work just fine and are all under $500.
These desks are both stylish and functional. If you don’t need a ton of storage and are looking for a piece that you can later transition easily into another room, these are the desks for you. They would all look beautiful in a living room as a console table or by the entry to catch keys and mail!
Need a bit more storage? How about one to these desks?
Looking for a desk that allows you to stand with ease while working? Or, do you want to easily convert an existing piece to a sit/stand desk? How about one of these from Crate and Barrel or Wayfair.
MID-RANGE DESKS: $$
Looking to invest in a piece with a bit more style? Is the form as important to you as the function? These desks range in price from $500 to just under $1000 and are STUNNING. My favorite finds in this price range are pictured below.
Want something with a bit more storage? These desks provide additional storage with deeper drawers.
Some of my favorite pieces to use for a home office desk include dining room tables and writing style desks. These types of pieces are perfect for spreading out on. Giving you ample space to write while also housing your computer and other desk accessories.
INVESTMENT DESKS: $$$
All of these desks are over $1000 but the style, function, and beauty they bring to any home office make them worth it.
These statement pieces would bring joy to the daily grind of work. The Peekaboo Acrylic, Reid Oval, and Palms desks are all timeless and trending. I also love the Atwood Reclaimed Wood desk. It features a single, long, open shelf on the reverse perfect for styling with a stack of books or a small vase. This desk would be beautiful floated in the center of a room where the styled shelf was visible as you walked in.
If you think working from home will become more full time rather than part time for you, maybe a traditional “desk” is what you need and should invest in. The below 4 desks all provide ample storage and enough space on top for all the things. Making them perfect for the job. AND, BONUS! They’re all gorgeous!
