4 of 5 in the bathroom remodel series
A vanity is one of the most functional pieces in a bathroom. Especially the main bath. There are lots of things to consider when you start the search for a vanity for your bathroom remodel.
The size of your space, how much storage you need, what kind of storage you need; whether it be drawers, cabinets, shelves or a combo. It’s sometimes hard to find everything you need in one piece

Bathroom Remodel Must-HAve – Plenty of Storage
We are a product heavy family. Mike with his beard products and me with my serums and oils. 🙂
Our last vanity had very little storage. Only one long drawer and one small cabinet. I knew having various options for storing our stuff was a must.
I basically made this the only criterion when narrowing down my initial search results so I wouldn’t fall in love with options that wouldn’t work for us. I love our vanity BECAUSE of all the storage and we have definitely put it ALL to use.
We knew we wanted a combo of drawers and cabinets and ideally, the one we selected would have the perfect mix of both.
Bathroom Remodel Must-Have – DOUBLE SINKS
If you read the first post in this series, then you know that one of our bathroom remodel wishlist items was a vanity with double sinks.
It’s just the two of us in this house. There aren’t too many times when having only one sink hindered us from getting ready or caused us to get in each other’s way.
We do however have out of town family that stays with us for 2 weeks at Christmas and a few other times throughout the year.
We also have the space to add an additional sink and this little luxury has been a great upgrade in our bathroom.
Style
Once I narrowed down the options that checked off the first 2 must-haves on our list, I then focused on the style.
Being a designer, the style and look of something are always in the back of my mind. Even if it isn’t my main focus at the time. It is something that is subconsciously there, guiding my filtering.
For the look, I wanted a piece that was classic and timeless in feel. I love a simple white Carrara marble top, and Wayfair had some great options to choose from. The one we selected has a light and dark gray veining running through it. It will never go out of style and will work with just about anything we mix with it

If you read part 3 of the bathroom remodel series, then you know that I wanted a warm, wood-toned vanity. I wanted to bring texture and warmth into the bathroom. My search included Home Depot, Wayfair, Restoration Hardware, etc. I couldn’t find anything in the tone of wood I was looking for within our budget.
For a short period of time, I considered refurbishing a piece of furniture into a vanity. But, I couldn’t find one within our short timeline. That’s how it goes though. Whenever you know exactly what you want, you can’t find it.
The winner
The vanity we landed on is the Stela 72″ double vanity in black with a Carrara marble top and a shaker style door.

We both have our own designated cabinet with a drawer below. We also have 4 additional drawers down the center. I may or may not have taken over those as well!
The only thing I don’t love about our vanity is the hardware. This is an easy fix though and a great way to inject some personality into the space. This is also something I am still on the hunt for.
Our last vanity had a TON of open space on top. Almost too much, if that’s a thing, and most of it was wasted. Even though our new vanity has two sinks, we still have plenty of
Nailing the perfect vanity for our bathroom remodel and staying in budget was definitely a process. But defining and focusing on the must-haves first before moving on helped to make the process smoother. In the last post in this series, I’m sharing the sources for all the finishes and the final reveal of the room!
