Hey friend — so glad you found your way here.
I’m Deanna Lowe, the designer and collector behind House of Lowe Designs. A space dedicated to layered, character-filled interiors that feel like they’ve been gathered over a lifetime.

I’m endlessly inspired by English country homes. The pattern mixing, the faded grandeur, the quirky floor plans, the sense that everything in the room has a story and a history. The portrait above the mantle that might be a great-great-grandmother. The antique chest that’s been passed down through generations. That feeling that a home has lived and accumulated meaning over time. That’s the atmosphere I’m always chasing, and it’s what I love helping you bring into your own space. No English countryside required.
My Approach to Design

To me, design is slow and never quite finished.
It’s hunting for a piece you love. Maybe not knowing exactly where it will go or how it will work, but knowing without question that it’s you and that you’ll figure it out. It’s layering color and pattern until a room stops feeling flat and starts feeling alive. It’s adding architectural details that give a space depth, history, and the kind of character that can’t be bought in a single afternoon.
Good design is well-considered but relaxed. Never perfect. A mix of styles and price points, old and new, inherited and thrifted. Assembled over time into something that feels genuinely collected rather than simply decorated.
That’s what I share here on the blog. Design tips, room transformations, DIY projects like wall moulding that can completely change the feel of a space, and the thrifted and antique finds that make a house feel truly yours. If you’ve ever looked at a room and known something was off but couldn’t quite put your finger on it, you’re in exactly the right place.
A Little About Us

I live in Ohio with my husband Mike and our two rescue dogs, Roland and Lily. Both adopted from the same shelter where we found our beloved Moose, who we lost in 2022. Roland is our gentle, sleepy hound mix who treats napping as a competitive sport (with a surprising sideline in cat chasing). Lily arrived in 2024 as a high-energy terrier mix with a serious prey drive and absolutely zero chill. We adore her for it. Someday we’d love to find a home with more history and character to pour ourselves into. A rambling English farmhouse would be the dream. We’ll see.

We’re also big foodies. Equally happy cooking at home or finding a great new restaurant. Mike and I got married in one of our favorite cities, Charleston, SC, which still holds a very special place in our hearts.
